Christian Friederich Reutter was born on July 6, 1874 in the city of Löchgau, Württemberg, Germany. He was christened on July 19, 1874, at Evangelisch, Loechgau, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany.

In 1884, when Christ Reutter was about 10 years of age, he immigrated from Germany by ship, along with his siblings and his parents, Georg Jakob "Jacob" Reutter and Katharina Margaretha "Katherine" Keck. Later, Christ would become a naturalized U.S. Citizen.

The parents of Georg Jacob Reutter were Johann Georg Reiter and Agnes Maria Schmid. Johann Georg Reiter was the son of Georg Heinrich Reiter and Sara Gauger; and Johann Georg was also an older brother of Jonathan Reutter, who immigrated to Medina, Ohio in 1853; also Johann Georg was the younger brother of Margaretha Dorothea Reuter Jost, who immigrated with her family to Medina; and he was the brother of "Christoph Heinrich 'Henry' Reuter", who immigrated to Medina, Ohio, with his family in July 1842, with Christina Barbara Steinle Ruegger and her family.

He married Rosa Steinle on January 1, 1900 and together they raised seven children:
Frank, Helen (Morlock), Clara (Dobson), Esther (Schwartz), Edna, Mildred "Milly"(Wolf) and Herbert.
Rosa and Christ were married for 55 years, until she preceded him in death. (Their photograph was taken on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary, January 1st, 1950.)

NOTE: Recent 23andMe analysis of the X-chromosome from one of their maternal grandsons, shows that a 100% Greek/Balkan ancestor of either Christian Reutter or Rose Steinle, likely born between 1660 and 1750, was a major contributor to that particular chromosome
