Lafe E. Fox, 92, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 1973 in Greene County Memorial Hospital. He had been seriously ill for the past month.

Mr. Fox had served for 36 years as a member of the Perry Township board of supervisors, and was a past president of the Greene County Association of Township Officers.

At one time, he was a huckster, and for more than 60 years had owned and operated a general store on Shannon Run near Mt. Morris. He also farmed and raised livestock, and was always interested in horse shows.

Mr. Fox was the oldest member of the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church.

A son of Eli Fox and Nancy VanDruff Fox, he was born September 19, 1880 in Perry Township and had resided all of his life in Perry and Whiteley Townships.

His first wife, Dorothy Kiger Fox, died January 21, 1943. His second wife, Nora Wilkerson Fox, died February 5, 1964.

Surviving are a daughter and a son from his first marriage, Mrs. Charles (Edith) Bowers of Waynesburg, R. D. 2, and Paul Fox of Duquesne; two grandsons, Wendell Fox of Mt. Morris, R. D. 1, and Jerry Fox of New York City; a granddaughter Mrs. Marlene Bowers Hunnell of Dayton, Ohio; a foster daughter, Mrs. Olive VanDruff of Waynesburg; a foster grandson, John Leslie VanDruff of Boston, Mass., and four great-grandchildren.

Two sisters are deceased.
