He was born in Earlville March 21, 1913, so had recently passed his 14th birthday. He attended the local schools and made good progress in his studies, notwithstanding the fact that ill-health prevented his regular attendance. He was a member of the Presbyterian Sunday school and was loved by his young friends and those with whom he came in contact.
He has borne his afflictions patiently and cheerfully and his fortitude has been a lesson to older ones.
The funeral services were conducted at the home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev Henry Abraham. Misses Ruth Cole and Doris White sang appropriate selections, with Miss Lena Prentice at the piano. Interment was in Precinct cemetery.
A profusion of beautiful flowers told of the esteem in which Charles was held by his friends and the community.
