She united with the Methodist church in the year 1872 and always lived a christian life. She was united in Marriage to Jasper B. Brown in 1869. to this union were born 8 children. Her husband and daughter Hila Ann Hickman preceded her in death. Charles Brown, who lived at home with his mother, Mrs. Kate Arney and Mrs. Rosa Little of Harrison County, Mrs Mary Lame, Tom, Jacob and Millard, all of Mercer County. she leaves beside her children to mourn her death, 35 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs Matilda Gibson of Leon, Iowa and two bothers, Pete Rector of Kansas City, Mo and George Rector of St. Louis, Mo and 2 half sisters, Mrs. Betty Norris of Trenton and Mrs. Belle Roberts of Mill Grove, also 1 half brother, Eli Rector of Mimburn, Iowa.
The funeral was conducted at the Salem Church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Cooley of the M.E. Church of Spickard and the remains were laid to rest by her husband in the Salem Cemetery.
