Henry is the son of Vincent and Helena Escher Brothers. The family emg. 3 Jul 1857.
John Henry Brothers died at his home in Burr Oak Tw. Sunday, hemorrage from the nose, aged 68 years, 8 months and 25 days.
Mr. brothers was born in Neurath, Rheinland, Germany, February 9, 1834. He came to America when a young man and in 1864 united in marriage with Margaret Cook at White Pigeon. They came to Sturgis in 1874 and engaged in farming in Burr Oak Twp. 3 1/2 miles north-east of Sturgis. Mr. Brothers was a sturdy industrious farmer and will be greatly missed by a wide circle of relatives and friends. A family of six children with the widow survive him: Mrs. Mary Flatz, of Freemont, Ohio and A. Brothers, H.P. Brothers, James, Averil and Gertie Brothers, all of Burr Oak Twp.
The funeral service was held at the church of Holy Angels, Sturgis, Thursday morning, October 8th, Rev. Fr. Kauffman officiating, with internment at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Henry was born at 7pm at 35 Frimmersdorfer Street, Neurath, Rheinland, Germany.
