Mrs. Brothers Lived Near Sturgis For 60 Years
Mrs. Margaret Mary Brothers, 77 widow of Henry Brothers, died at the home of her son,Henry Brothers Jr. in Burr Oak Twp. northeast of Sturgis after an illness of about three weeks.
Mrs. Brothers was born July 25, 1856 in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cook. She was married to Mr. Brothers on April 25, 1864 at White Pigeon. For the past 60 years she had lived on a farm in Burr Oak Twp.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Faltz of Freemont, Ohio and Mrs. Gertrude Darr of Sturgis; three sons, Anthony Brothers and James Brothers of Sturgis and Henry Brothers of Burr Oak Twp.; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Rhodes and Mrs. Rosa Sifert, both of South Bend, Ind.; and two brothers, Anthony Cook and John Cook both of Grand Rapids
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father F.S. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
