Ottawa, Ohio, Sept. 9 - Amos J. Banning, 74, prominent Ottawa citizen and proprietor of the Banning Tailor Shop here, died at 8 o'clock last night at Memorial Hospital, Lima, Ohio. He had been a patient for 10 days suffering from injuries received when he stepped in the path of an automobile driven by Harold Huffman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Huffman of Ottawa. Pneumonia developed which caused his death.

He was born in Hardin Co., Feb. 14, 1860, to Anthony and Louise (Cessna) Banning.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Handy, daughter of the late Judge William H. Handy, and one sister who resides in Kenton.

Funeral services will be held from the Masonic Temple Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Burial will be at Kenton, his former home.
