J. Kenneth Talley, 83, of Shepherdstown, died Monday, November 12, at City Hospital.

Born February 28, 1918, in Berryville, Va., he was the son of the late John Ashby and Emma Ruth Lloyd Talley.

He retired after 45 years with W.H. Knode's Sons in Shepherdstown.

He was a member of New Street United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown.

He was a member of AARP.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosalee Carter Talley; a daughter, Judith K. "Judy" Penwell, Shepherdstown; one granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Snyder and Hilda Brashears; and four brothers, Lloyd W. Talley, Samuel Talley, Hunter Talley, and Frank Talley.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home. Rev. Dee-Ann Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
