Ida Marie Honeycutt was born in Plainview, AR. on February 3, 1940 to P.K. and Julia George Smith. She was "Born Again" on April 5, 1953, and went home to be with her Lord on May 4, 2009. Marie graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1958. On June 15, 1963, she married James Honeycutt. They were blessed with three daughters. She worked at numerous factories but retired from the Arkansas Arts Center, after seventeen years, as a security guard. Marie wrote a book of memoirs for her daughters and grandchildren, a book, "My Years at the White House" about her job at the Pike-Fletcher Terry House. Another book assisting an artist friend with her autobiography. She also wrote poetry and painted. Marie taught the Gleaners Sunday School Class, delivered "Meals on Wheels", volunteered for Arkansas Hospice and the Plainview Community Library.

Survivors include her husband Jim; daughters, Karen Gilmore & husband Bill of Poplarville, MS., Kathy Ivy of Jacksonville, and Kristy Kordsmeier & husband Jason of Beebe; She leaves behind 14 grandchildren, many cousins & friends.

Funeral will be at 11:00am, May 8, 2009 at Plainview First Baptist Church. Brother Michael Ault will officiate. Burial will be 2:00pm at Birta Cemetery, Birta, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service.
