OBIT--Virgle Eugene "Dusty" Rhodes, 69, of Kansas City, Kansas died March 28, 1987 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was a lifelong area resident. He was a Wyandotte County Deputy Sheriff before he retired in 1970. He was a member of the Kansas Peace Officers Association. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II on Honolulu, Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He received multiple injuries during the attack on Pearl. Burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
