Maurice J. Ross was born in Somers, March 8, 1904, a son of Charles A. and Cora Lee Ross. When he was a child, the family moved to Dodson, where they lived on a ranch until 1932, when he moved to Great Falls and was associated with his father in the operation of the Northwest Equipment Co. He moved to Kalispell as salesman for Northwest Tractor and Equipment Co. In Dec. 1941, he went to Seattle, Wash., where he worked for Boeing Aircraft Co. until he joined the Merchant Marine, in which he served two years. For the past several years he had made his home in Boring, Ore., where he was foreman for the Marx Gardens.

After a lung operation in the Emanuel Hospital in Portland, he died March 13, 1955. He is survived by two brothers, Harry of Big Arm, Lee in Korea, and several aunts and uncles.
