Lonnie Ray Arinder, 81, went to rejoice in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 4, 2009.
Visitation was at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Services were at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, May 7, 2009. Burial was at Rocky Hill Church of God Cemetery in Sebastopol, MS.
Along with his bride of 55 years, Bonnie Ruth Sistrunk Arinder, Lonnie took much joy in their ministry of music and singing. Even after suffering from Parkinson's disease and leukemia, Lonnie rarely missed an opportunity to worship in the house of the Lord.
After various occupations from cowboy to musician to LPN at the State Hospital, Lonnie joined the Jackson Police Department where he became a well respected fingerprint expert. After retiring from the police department, Lonnie took the position of fingerprint examiner at the MS State Crime Lab.
Beyond salvation through the blood of Jesus, Lonnie's dearest love in life was his wife and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Arinder; his sister, Cordia Mann; and his brothers, Houston, Robert, and DeWitt.
Lonnie was survived by his wife, Bonnie (deceased 8-17-2017); sons, Fabrian and wife, Jackie; Lorin; daughter, Angelique Shupe and husband, Christopher; grandchildren, Brian, Lane, Bethany, Hunter, (and now Elianah EmmaRuth); great grandchildren, Rayden, Elynnora and Gideon, (and now Alayna, Amelia and Josie Ann); brother, Bill and wife, Shirley; sister-in-law, Fannie Arinder (deceased 9-29-2018); Bonnie's brother and sisters; many nieces, nephews, and special friends who are counted as family.
