Born in Cleveland County, he was a lifetime farmer and it brought him great joy to share his garden and woodwork with family, neighbors and friends.
He worked for 10 years in the blending department at Doran Mills.
He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and his Christian life was a visible testimony to others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Dovie Allen Bowen; three brothers, Joe Bowen, Howard Bowen and Max Bowen; four sisters, Cecil Allen, Epsie Morgan, Edna Davis and Blanche Bowen; and one great-grandchild, Joshua Bowen.
Funeral: Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
