On Jan. 24, 1899, he was united in marriage with Rose C. Fisch, at Sigourney. To this union, two sons and three daughters were born. In 1915, they moved from the Millersburg community to a farm near Deep River, where they continued to farm until they moved to their present home in 1939.

He is survived by his wife and five children, Harold, Sigourney, Edith Stoker, Grinnell, Kenneth, Deep River, Velma Sherertz, Forest Park, Ill., and Evelyn Wanous, Arlington, Va., and 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. There are also two sisters, Letha King, Blairstown, and Alta Fisch, Keswick, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Willis Cheney were held Sept. 1 at the Deep River Christian Church, with Rev. Ted Warren officiating.
Interment was at the Golden Rod Cemetery.
