The following poem which seems appropriate at this time was composed by Mrs. Grandstaff in her 40th year.
Autumn leaves the forest adorning,
Remind us of our own decay,
When far spent has been the morning
Of youth's bright and happy day.
Look upon these forest paintings,
Warnings of a closing scene;
We too, like them are racing;
Lord restore the vanquished dreams.
