Additional research in process (21 March 2015, continuing as of July 2016).

Thank you to E Hilbert (#47398210) for additional information and clarity on a couple of points.

Information extracted from headstone, SSDI records, and obits published in the Mercury (Pottstown, Pennsylvania) on Saturday, November 15, 2008 and the Southern Berks News (Boyertown, Pennsylvania) on Wednesday, November 19, 2008.

Funeral services to be held at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., Birdsboro on Wednesday morning, November 19, 2008. A family visitation and viewing to be held at the funeral home on Wednesday an hour before the funeral. Burial to follow at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Chester County. Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. of Birdsboro handled the arrangements.

Survivors include a son of Winter Haven, Florida; three daughters - one of Birdsboro; one of Boyertown, and one of
Douglassville; eleven (11) grandchildren; fourteen (14) great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.

Preceded in death by her husband (died 1980), her parents, and a son, Donald Angstadt (death date unknown) - there is now a link to a Ronald Angstadt as son, but the obituary had Donald so don't know if Donald was a typo in obituary or if she was preceded by two sons.

Mary of Amity died Thursday in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room. She was 98. She was the widow of the late Herman J. Angstadt, who died May 02, 1980. She was a homemaker.

She was born in Chester Springs (Chester County, Pennsylvania) to the late Mae Kring (her mother's headstone has her as Anna May) and the late Monroe Kring.

She was predeceased by a son, Donald Angstadt (census records estimate birth year 1930 or 1933; Ancestry has his death date about 1940, but after the census was taken).

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Amityville and a past member of the Helping Hand Club of Monocacy.

Social Security Death Index (SSDI) information:
SSN Issued: Pennsylvania
Last known residence: several cities listed on SSDI, but obit said Amity; Berks County; Pennsylvania 19518

Herman's Social Security Death Index (SSDI) information:
Name: Herman Angstadt
Birthdate: August 27, 1904
Death date: May 1980
SSN Issued: Pennsylvania
Last known residence: Birdsboro; Berks County; Pennsylvania 19518

As noted in the above bio, there are some discrepancies on several key points. I have chosen to include the discrepancies in case people have one or the other items in their records. If new discrepancies arise, I will add them in the bio.
