Mr. Grady Goodman Long, Jr.: Age 80, passed Wednesday, December 8, 1999 at his residence in Perdido of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Mr. Long had been a resident of Perdido for the past 28 years and a former resident of Atmore and Mobile. He was a retired employee of the L & N Railroad after more than 30 years and was a member of Perdido Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Thyra Weekley Long of Perdido; a son and daughter-in- law, Barry and Ann Long of Fairhope; two grandsons, Austin and Hayden Long of Fairhope; two brothers, Roy Long of Minter, AL and Mose Long of Newport News, VA; a sisters, Jessie Mae Flowers of Mobile, AL. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 1999 at 11 a.m. the Perdido Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Joy and Rev. Tony Gibson officiating. interment will follow at the Perdido Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Perdido Baptist Church, Community Hospice of Baldwin County or charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are by ATMORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Atmore, AL.
