Kevin Eugene Abel, 44, Scottsbluff, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999 at Denver, Colorado. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 27, at the Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with the Rev. Victor McPeak officiating. Interment was in the Bayard cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the family. Jolliffe Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
He was born Aug. 27, 1954 at Bridgeport, the son of Walter and Elsie (Feil) Abel. He received his education in the Gering School system. He was united in marriage to Denise Roland, Dec. 6, 1980 at Scottsbluff. He was employed at Nebraska Transport Co. in Scottsbluff as dock foreman. He was united in marriage to Lola Smith, Aug. 2, 1986, at Helena Montana. He was then employed at Denver as terminal manager with the Mollerway Freight Lines. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, traveling and amassed a collection of wolf artistry.
He is survived by his wife Lola; daughter Melissa Abel of Minatare; son Steve Key Abel of Denver; grandson Robert Montgomery Price,IV; parents Walter and Elsie Abel of Scottsbluff, brother Steven Abel of Hermosa Beach, Calif., and maternal grandparents Mollie and Dave Feil of Bayard. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
