Pierrepont Woman 85 dies at home of daughter funeral Tuesday
Pierrepont April 7 Mrs. Flora Coon Brewer 85 widow of William Brewer dies at 9 Saturday night at the home of her son in law and daughter Mr. & Mrs. Harold Curtis West Pierrepont with whom she had lived
A prayer service will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday at the Curtis home and the funeral will be at 2 in the Beech Plains church. Burial will be in the Beech Plains Cemetery.
Mrs. Brewer is survived by a son Horace Brewer Pierrepont five daughters Miss Grace Brewer Pierrepont; Mrs. Harold Genevieve Curtis; West Pierrepont; Mrs. Arthur Hazel Vebber and Mrs. Morris Flora Hawley, both of Colton, and Mrs. Otto Rachel Westbrook, Buffalo; twelve grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Anna Heffernan, North Russell
Mrs. Brewer was born Nov 1, 1872 at Pierrepont, a daughter of Horace and Marion Coon. She graduated from the teachers training course at the Canton academy and taught schooling this area.
Mr. and Mrs. Brewer were married Aug 13 1892 at Crary Mills. Rev Leonard Cole pastor performed the ceremony in the Methodist parsonage. Mr. Brewer a farmer died at the age of 69 on Aug 13 1942, the Day of his 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Mrs. Brewer was a former county Republican committee woman, a member of the Pierrepont home bureau, a member of the John C Peggs Post auxiliary, a member of the Beech Plains ladies' aid and superintendent of the Beech Plains Sunday school.
