He was the son of John Washington King & Sarah Elizabeth (Maxey) King. He left his wife & children in 1923 to attend a State School Superintendent meeting in Charleston, WV. No one never seen him again. He was (at the time of his disappearance)School Superintendent of Mercer Co., WV schools. He married Ola Mae Bailey, October 26, 1913 in Mercer County, West Virginia. She never remarried after his disappearance. None of his family ever knew what became of him until August 2011. His granddaughter, found evidence of him on Ancestry.Com & from there, found out what happened to him. After 88 yrs., his granddaughter, Sarah Midkiff Agnew, FOUND HIM. Wish his children had been living to know. He was the father of 5 children. When he left, the oldest was 6 or 7 yrs. old & the youngest was 6 months old. There may be a possibility that he married in Seattle, Washington. He was the grandfather of Sarah Midkiff Agnew. I have just found evidence that my grandfather, Benjamin Franklin "Frank" King Sr. married Gertrude Rasner. She was born January 31, 1887 in Kentucky. They were married February 25, 1924 in Yakima County, Washington (Selah). Her parents were James Buchanan Rasner & Rebecca Sophia Reynolds. My grandfather also married Grace F Read Born abt. 1897 & died December 24, 1939 in King County, Washington (Seattle). They were married July 21 1932 in King County, Washington (Seattle). Her parents were Robert Read & Ann Jenkins. I can find NO evidence that he divorced my grandmother, Ola Mae Bailey.
