KENNEWICK, WA -- Wanda Mae Clark passed away October 20, 2002, in Kennewick, Washington, after a long battle with Alzheimer's and is now at rest with her Heavenly Father. Wanda was born October 14, 1924, in Burley, Idaho, and moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, when she was a young girl.

During World War II, she worked as a welder at the Portland Shipyard and because of her size she was able to get into the smaller compartments of the ship. After the war, she moved to San Francisco and worked for an insurance company. After spending three months in the hospital for a collapsed lung, she returned to Idaho Falls and a drier climate.

Wanda loved dancing to the big band sound, playing pinochle, growing roses, raising her children and doing things for others. She was a kind and generous person, a true gift from God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, D'Mont Clark; father, Alma Fairchild; mother, Florence Wright; sister, Delores Fairchild; and sons, Gary and Jerry.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Roshelle Clark of Boise, Idaho; daughter, Leslie Clark of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Brent Quinton of Kennewick, Washington; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Wayne Kearney of Richfield, Utah; sister, Sonja Dell Fairchild of Boise, Idaho; a special granddaughter and husband, Sandy and Kyle Rowland of Elko, Nevada and many other loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue, in Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
Graveside Services will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
