Ruben Larson, 86, West Fargo, ND died Friday, May 1, 2009 in Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Ruben D. Larson was born on Sept. 14, 1922 in Northwood, ND to Ole and Amanda (Burres) Larson. He joined the US Marine Corps in December 1942 and served in Iwo Jima and other Pacific locations. He was discharged in 1946.
Ruben married Charlotte Brinkman on May 29, 1949 in Moorhead, MN. Ruben then began working in the lumber industry and remained in that industry for 40 years until he retired in 1985. Ruben then moved to West Fargo. He later worked for the Fargo Parking Authority until 1996. Charlotte passed away on December 31, 1999. Ruben resided at Bethany Homes of Fargo for a short time before his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, parents, three brothers, DeForest, Lawrence and Donald, two sisters, Odena Larson and Helen Jenson.
Ruben is survived by one son, Rick (Joan) Larson, Fargo, ND; two daughters, June (Doug) Bakko, Mapleton, ND, Bonnie Larson, West Fargo, ND; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
