Prison Ship Martyr

A privateersman is someone who either commanded or worked as a crew member on a privately owned ship that participated in the war, attacking or capturing enemy ships. It had to have the sanction of the government prior to engaging in the war.

A Prison Ship Martyr is a prisoner of war who died in captivity while being held on a ship. While held on these prison ships, the prisoners were intentionally neglected.
