Husband to Susan (Johnson) Abel (Susan is not buried with Jim)


Survived by his loving wife, Susan, and step-children, Steven (Cynthia) O'Neil, Susan K. Furman, Michael Tressel, Mark (Dee) Tressel, William (Mary) Tressel, Gary (Diane) Tressel, Richard (Donna) Tressel, Robert (Freda) Tressel, and Frances (William) Wright, and many step-grandchildren. He also left his dear sisters and brothers, Jerry (Corrine) Abel, Fred (Peggy) Abel, Martha (Max) Bott, Mary (Henry) Wojcik, Joan (Michael) Carmody, and David (Joan) Abel, and many nieces and nephews.


He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Remus for most of his life as well as the Knights of Columbus there. For the past few years he attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns and was an active member of Mary, Queen of Peace prayer group at St. Joseph.


Funeral officiated by Rev. Msgr. Robert Lunsford and Rev. Fr. Bill Zink.
