Staff Sgt. Randy S. Agno of Pearl City, Hawaii was a 1997 graduate of Pearl City High School. He joined the Army in 1998 and was assigned to Hawaii in 2001. While in the service he served as a food service specialist. Randy always talked about having his own restaurant someday. Cooking for others made him happy. His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Arrowhead, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He was also named the Junior Army Chef of the Year at the U.S. Army's 31st Annual Culinary Arts Competition in 2006. Randy died at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, of wounds sustained Apr. 27 from a non-combat related incident at Forward Operating Base Olsen in Samarra, Iraq. He was 29.
