The Daily Outlook of Santa Monica, Cal., pays a high tribute to the worth of Dr. W. T. Collins, who recently passed away in that city. Dr. Collins was a pioneer at Grand Forks, and was a member of the territorial council in 1887; soon after this he went to Montana, and for some years was the physician in charge of the sanitarium at Hunter's Hot Springs. He served with distinction in the army and was major in the Berdan sharpshooters, being seriously wounded at the second battle of Bull Run, which made him a cripple for life. At his request he was buried in the beautiful cemetery at the California soldiers home, though not an inmate, of that institution. His many old friends in this state will regret to learn of his demise.
