RACINE - Edward D. Beyer, 79, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Edward was born in Burlington on November 6, 1929, to Albert and Margaret (nee: Zerphes) Beyer. He grew up in the Twin Lakes area before moving to Racine. He married Della Patrum. Edward served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper. Edward was employed as a Racine County Deputy Sheriff prior to entering into building construction. He was a member of the Laborers Union 113. Edward's passion was his work and family. He is survived by his wife, Della Beyer; children, Michael (Cathy) Beyer, Theresa Beyer, David Beyer, Bridget (David) Ruffalo, Matthew Beyer, and Tracy (Tim) Fairbanks; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Joe (Beverly) Beyer; and sister, Pat (Roger) Williams. Edward is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike; and sister, Mary. Funeral services for Edward will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 11, 2009, at 7 p.m. with Rev. John Aiello and Minister Steven Larrabee officiating. Private family entombment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
