GIRARD - Mildred "Mitzi" J. Ramsey, 81, of Girard passed away Monday, April 20, 2009, at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard.

She was born in Springfield on Nov. 6, 1927, to Paul A. and Hedwig H. Heinrich Knaust. She married Charles E. Ramsey on May 22, 1948. He passed away in 2001.

Mitzi was formerly employed by as a data processor by Franklin Life. She was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Ramsey (companion, Sharlene "Shar" Dolan) of Springfield and Charles Ramsey (companion, Nell Pfost) of Longwood, FL; two grandsons, Josh (wife, Heidi) Ramsey of North Carolina and Heath Ramsey (companion, Jodi Patterson) of Chatham; two great-granddaughters, Hanna and Isabella; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dan Dexter officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
