State Journal-Register, The (Springfield, IL) - Tuesday, November 14, 2000
NAPLES, Fla. - Lena M. Kirby of Naples, Fla., formerly of Auburn, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at Naples Community Hospital.
She was born in Illiopolis, the daughter of Wallace and Susie Surber Owens. She married James P. Kirby in 1939; he preceded her in death in 1981.
Mrs. Kirby retired in 1982 from the Auburn Post Office, where she had been employed as the postal clerk for 20 years.
She was a member of the Venus Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 408 in Riverton and a member of East Naples United
Methodist Church. She was a volunteer for Naples Community Hospital and Meals on Wheels.
Survivors: a son, Larry Lee (wife, Sharon) Kirby of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Allene Owens Arney of Buffalo; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Camp Butler National Cemetery, the Rev. Adam Corzine and the Rev. William Shanle will be officiating.
Stab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
