Anna F. Calkins , 88, a former resident of Calkins Road, Cato, died Sunday at James Square Nursing Home in Syracuse after a lengthy illness.
Born in Cato, Mrs. Calkins lived most of her life in the Cato-Meridian area before moving to Baldwinsville in 1977. She was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church. She was employed several years at General Electric and at the Cato-Meridian schools cafeteria.
Surviving are two sons, retired U.S. Air Force Maj. George W. Calkins of Clay, and Florant Lee Calkins Jr. of Orchard Park; a daughter, Suzanne Damewood of Baldwinsville; three sisters, Dorothy Booth of Syracuse , Elba Griebno of Liverpool, and June Purdy of Liverpool; Eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Jewell Funeral Home, South Street, Cato, with Rev. Charles W. Keller officiating. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery, Plainville.
