Hugh Gunnison married (1) by 1637, Elizabeth ____, perhaps Kilbourne, daughter of THOMAS KILBOURNE (#70150016) & his wife Frances (Moody)(#70150563). (See, Ernest H. Helliwell III, "Was Elizabeth2 Kilbourne the First Wife of Hugh1 Gunnison of Boston and Kittery?" The New England Historical and Genealogical Register 163 (2009):16-18.) She died at Boston on 25 January 1645[/6].

For more on Elizabeth Kilbourne, see Massachusetts Town & Vital Records and New England Historical Records. English Select Births and Christenings have her baptized, as well as all of her sibs, in Woodditton.

The first wife of Robert Jenison has been said to be the daughter of Thomas Kilbourne and Frances Moody Kilbourne, baptized at Wood Ditton, Cambridgeshire on May 12,1614. References to this are found in a Great Migration series article on Thomas Kilborn and in Bond's Watertown treatment of Robert Jenison. However, the most recent theory is that their daughter Elizabeth married Hugh Gunnison. (NEHGR 163:16-18) The arguments presented in this article are weak, but plausible. This would leave the identity of this wife of Robert unknown.
