Alma Parrish Ford, 91, of Melrose, died Monday, December 25, 2000, at her home.
She lived in Anthony, Florida and moved to Earleton, Florida as an infant, later moving to Orange Heights, and then Melrose. She was married September 10, 1929, when she moved from Melrose to Lake McMeekin, east of Hawthorne, and finally back to Melrose. She was a homemaker and a member of the homemaker's club of Melrose. She was a member of Eliam Baptist Church and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne. She was also a farmer and citrus grower, specializing in Chinese honeys.
She was predeceased by her husband, Reuben Royal Ford and her son, Allen Ford, both in 1978.
She is survived by her daughters, Easter Carlisle and Norma Ford Carter, both of Gainesville; sisters, Lottie Lee Roberson of Melbourne and June Laural Blackmon of Ocala; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:30 Thursday, December 28, 2000, at Eliam Baptist Church in Melrose with Rev. David Bentley officiating. Burial will be in Eliam Cemetery in Melrose. The family will receive friends at the Moring Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 4-6:30 p.m.
