W.T. Beames, formerly of Scandia, died at Tulsa, Okla., Friday, October 17, and the remains were brought to Scandia for burial. The funeral services were conducted from the United Brethren church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. W.S. Baker delivering the sermon.
A few years ago Mr. Beames was engaged in the clothing business in Scandia being associated with his brother, J.B. Beames. For the past seven or eight years he has been connected with a clothing company at Tulsa.
Mr. Beames was born near New London, Iowa, August 13, 1847. He was 77 years, 2 months, and 4 days old at the time of his death. He leaves one son, Lester Beames of Belleville. His son, Earl Beames, died in France during the World War.
