AGED 72 YEARS, 1 MONTH, 20 DAYS [From the WAYNE COUNTY OUTLOOK Dated: Jan 13, 1944- Mrs MALINDA WILLIAMS (HOLLARS) CANADA, 72, wife of the late WILLIAM F. CANADA, Sr., died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at her home on Oak Street. Born in Wayne County Nov 15, 1871, Mrs CANADA had resided in Pulaski and Wayne counties her entire life. She moved to Somerset, KY about 25 years ago, resided here for about 12 years, then moved to Wayne County and had lived there until about 2 weeks ago. She recently purshed the Alonzo Carter home on Oak Street and moved to it 16 days ago. She became ill with pneumonia, the day she moved to this city and was recovering from her illness. She suffered a heart attack Tuesday, which was attributed as the cause of her death.Mrs CANADA had been a member of the Baptist Church since early childhood and was a good Christian woman. Her homelife was exquisite and she always was interested in activities of her children. She was a good wife, a loving Mother, and a kind and beloved neighbor, who always was willing to assist a less fortunate neighbor and her passing spread grief thoughout Pulaski and Wayne counties. Her husband preceded her in death, eight years ago. She is survivied by a Daughter, BERTHA MAE (CANADA) WEAVER, of Somerset, KY; 2 Sons, WILLIAM F. CANADA, Jr., of Somerset, KY, and C. L. CANADA, of Meacham, OR; several Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. --------Somerset Commonwealth---The funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church, in Somerset, KY, with Rev. Homer Williams, of Frazer, Wayne CO., KY, in charge, assisted by the Rev. Hill, with Burial in the Somerset Cemetery. The casket bearers were: Henry Hayes, Poke Walker, R. V. Reynolds.]
