Obituary: The Opp Weekly News (13 Mar 1930) "Another of Opp's Best Citizens Called Home" "Funeral Service for C.D. Page Held at Home Saturday P.M." "Funeral services for C.D. Page, prominent business man and influential citizen of Opp who died at nine o'clock Friday morning, were hled form the family residence at two o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. V.M. Gardner, pastor of the Baptist church was in charge of the rites and was assisted by Rev. J.E. Tate, pastor of the Methodist church. Mr. Page had been seriously ill for twelve weeks, his last sickness being the only serious illness he had had throughout his entire life. Although his family and friends understood that recently discovered heart trouble would prevent him from being well again, his death came as a shock to them on Friday morning. He is survived by his wife, three sons, and four daughters, Oscar and Douglas Page, of Opp, George Page, Of Tuskegee, Mrs. Cecil Leslie and Mrs. Millard Osborne, of Birmingham, Mrs. C.W. Stanley and Miss Lalee Page, of Opp. Interment was made in the City Cemetery immediately following the services in the home. Active pallbearers C.W. Mizell, M.E. Donaldson, G. C. Pierce, S.O. Maloy, Charlie Banks, and George Armistead. The many beautiful floral offerings attested the respect and esteem in which Mr. Page was held by a large circle of friends and scores of relatives."
