Mrs. Mary Scoda, 79 of 505 New Street, Duryea, died yesterday morning at 8;15 at Pittston Hospital where she was admitted Tuesday as a medical Patient.
She was born in Baltimore, Md., and came to Duryea from White Mills and resided in Duryea 50 years.
Mrs. Scoda was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Duryea, and Christian Mothers of the church. She also was a member of Auxiliary to Duryea Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
Her husband Joseph died 33 years ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Moraskie at home: sons, Robert, Dearborn, Mich: Walter, Pittston: Francis, Philadelphia: Phillip, West Pittston and James, Duryea.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, 204 Main St., Duryea, followed by a Requiem Mass at 9:30 at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday 7 to 10, Saturday and Sunday, 2 to 5 and 7 to 10.
