Mary Elizabeth 'Granny' Fulkerson, 87
ZANESVILLE - Mary Elizabeth "Granny" Fulkerson, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born Nov. 14, 1920, in Zanesville, to the late Ronald and Bertha Weidig Lawson. Mary worked at Mosaic Tile in the pasting department and then retired from Good Samaritan Hospital, where she worked as an LPN until age 70. Mary was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 29 and was also a past president of the auxiliary. She was known as "Babe" and to many people who loved and knew her as "Granny."
Mary is survived by sons, C.R. "Ron" Fulkerson, David Fulkerson, and Tom (Barb) Fulkerson; a daughter, Rebecca (Gary) Jones; a sister, Rita (Larry) Daniel; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Martha Fattler.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hugh S. "Peck" Fulkerson; a son, Stanley Fulkerson; a brother, Ronald "Buzzy" Lawson; and three sisters, Lillian Basehart, Millie Hissam and Bernadine Fattler.
No calling hours will be observed.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The Snouffer Funeral Home, 1150 W. Military Road, Zanesville, is caring for the Fulkerson family.
