Carrie Lou Logan was a young school teacher when she was suddenly taken by illness. Without the miracle of modern antibiotics, so many young people, just beginning their lives, were snatched away by a whim of fate.

Of the 12 children born to James Meriwether and Eno Ophelia Dickson Logan. Carrie was the fourth child and second girl. She was one of only three girls born to this large family.. The girl's lives all ended prematurely. She had nine brothers, eight of which survived to adulthood and went on to live long and full lives.

Three sisters listed in the order in which they died are (left to right): Mary Joe Logan (1908), Laura Lee Logan Hix (1918) and Carrie Lou Logan (1921).

Gravesite Details

This unique marker is almost impossible to read. After close examination, and many photographs, we were able to determine that the three Logan sisters are indeed listed on this marker in the above order.
