Floyd Ira Calvin, 85, of Columbia, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Stuart officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at the funeral home.

Mr. Calvin was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Boone County to Robert and Lucy Frey Calvin. He married Lillian Gertrude Garrett on Dec. 23, 1936, and she preceded him in death. He later married Lena Snipes on Aug. 7, 1999, and she survives.

He had worked in the construction business for many years and later for the University of Missouri in maintenance. He was a member of Praise Assembly of God Church.

Other survivors also include two sons, Jerry Calvin of Columbia and Ronald Calvin of Hallsville; two daughters, Gail Daly of Columbia and Betty Palmer of Centralia; a sister, Loretta Holt of Columbia; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 33 E. Broadway, Suite 100, Columbia, Mo. 65203.
