Lydia Ellen Keefer was the daughter of Daniel Keefer & Catherine Wareham Keefer, born July 31, 1862 in Oliver Twp., Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. She married David Jackson Boyington on May 19, 1884 in Brookville, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. To this union two daughters were born; Hattie Boyington Sutton and Myrtle Boyington Smutz. Her husband died in 1893 of typhoid. She later remarried to William S. Conyers in July of 1897. There no children to this union. She died January 1, 1905 in Linn, Washington County, Kansas of Bright's Disease. She was buried next to her first husband in the Washington City Cemetery, Washington, Washington County, Kansas.
