Mass for Frederick J. Bentze Sr., a Jamaica resident for 26 years, will be offered tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. in presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Jamaica. Burial will follow in Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn. Mr. Bentze died Tuesday in his home, 165-33 85th Ave. He was 71. A native of Ossining, N.Y., Mr. Bentze, a one-time vaudeville entertainer and professional roller skater, served in France during World War I. A resident of Alfred, Conn., before moving to Long Island in 1939, Mr. Bentze was commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars there. He leaves his widow, the former Isabel[sic] M. Hammond; three sons, Frederick Jr. of Jamaica, George of Stratford, Conn. and Ronald of Flushing; nine daughters, Mrs. Ethel Kimlin of Patchogue, Mrs. Veronica Sturtz of Seymour, Conn., Mrs. Nannette Fazer[sic] of New Jersey, Mrs. Gloria Scheid of Oyster Bay, Mrs. Doris Gillingham of Bellport, Mrs. Virginia Harvey of Farmingdale, Mrs. Shirley Klein of Bethpage, Mrs. Phyllis Schlosser of Bethpage and Carol Ann Bentze of Jamaica; and 26 grandchildren. The Thomas M. Quinn Funeral Home, 165-20 Hillside Ave., Jamaica, is in charge of arrangements.
