There is a discrepancy in the date of birth. The death certificate and the Social Security Death Index both show a date of birth of May 4, 1924, but the obituary shows a date of birth of May 21, 1924.

Gordon E. Tapp

Gordon E. Tapp, 73, Shelbyville, died Friday in Indianapolis.

Born on May 21, 1924, in Illmo, Mo., he was the son of William and Ivah (Jones) Tapp.

He had resided in Indianapolis before moving to Shelbyville 25 years ago.

Mr. Tapp had been a truck driver for several years with National By Products.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Corps.

He was a member of the American Legion Post, Shelbyville.

Survivors include his wife, Anita G. (Romack) Tapp, Shelbyville; two daughters, Jackie Gillenwater and Veva Davis, three sons, Ron Tapp, Dan Tapp and Bill Tapp; a sister, Imogene Massie; a brother Orville Tapp; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Services were held today at Conkle Funeral Home, Lynhurst Chapel, Indianapolis. Burial was in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
