Linus Binz, 90, of LaBelle, passed away July 21, 2006 at his residence.

Mr. Binz was born June 1, 1916 in Paris, Arkansas and had been a resident of the mid-county area since 1943. He was retired from Texaco after 36 years of service and was member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman that enjoyed traveling with his loving wife. He also enjoyed flea market gatherings.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary L. Binz; son, Charles Binz and wife, Ruth Anne all of LaBelle; one granddaughter, Sherri Choate, two great grandchildren, Ciarra an Austin Choate, all of Fort Worth; three sisters, LaVern Farrington of Champagne, Illinois, Lucille Smith and Lorene Mantooth, both of Charleston, Arkansas.

Mr. Binz was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Irene Binz, a grandson Shannon Binz, and four brothers.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2006 at Broussard's Mortuary, 505 12th St. in Nederland, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Reverend Dan Malain presiding. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland
