Shelby F. "Sonny" May,66, of Battle Creek passed away after a two year courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, August 12, 2007 at his home. He was born May 6, 1941 in Harlan, KY the son of Ray Moss May and Florence A. (Ferrel) May. He married Janice M. Jones on December 16, 1961 in Battle Creek. He retired from the Harper Creek Public Schools. Sonny was a wonderful father as he enjoyed coaching his son's in floor hockey and baseball. He was an avid fisherman and collector of different items. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. He was a member of the F.O.P Lodge 121 He is survived by his wife, Janice M. May; sons Steven (Tammi) May and Scott (Traci) May both of Battle Creek; 7 grandchildren; brothers, James May H.L. May, Herman May; and sister, Dorothy Caswell He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jeff May and 3 brothers and a sister. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at
