Ben Erwin Keyes, 60, 2814 West Bannock St., died Wednesday in a Boise hospital after a long illness. He was born April 29, 1906, at Boise, where he attended schools. He worked for the Dollar Steamship Lines and was employed by the Herald and Examiner newspapers in Chicago. He returned to Boise in 1933 where he worked as a bartender at the Hotel Boise and the Western Hotel. Mr Keyes retired nine years ago due to failing health. He was a member of St. Michael's Catherdral. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Helen F. Keyes, Bosie, and Mrs. T.J. Simpson, Falls Church, VA; and three brothers, Stillman J. Keyes, Jr., Baton Rouge, LA; William E. Keyes, Biose, and Robert J. Keyes, New Orleans, LA. Services will be conducted at 10 am Friday at Gibson Chapel with the staff of St. Michael's Cathedral officiating. Interment will follow at Morris Hill.
