Vernon Anthony (Pete) Bourgeois, born February 25, 1928, entered into rest on May 15, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas after a long battle with leukemia. He worked for Southwestern Bell and retired after 35 years. Mr. Bourgeois is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lillian Bourgeois; children, Diane Bourgeois and spouse Ray Blackman, Doug Bourgeois, and Jackie Bourgeois; grandchildren, Tammy Escobedo (Art Escobedo), Michele Johnson (Mike Johnson), Christina Robbins (Stewart Robbins), and Jason Broker (Stacy Broker; great grandchildren, Kendall, Emma, Abigail, Nathan, Cody, Kai, and Lillian. Pete was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed but who will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and the ones who knew him. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
