APPERSON, Aldah Larew Williams, 88, of Newbern, died Monday morning, January 12, 1998, in the Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Roanoke. She was born in Galax on July 25, 1909, and was the daughter of the late Everette Cox Williams and Mary Farmer Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, C. T. Apperson. She was a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Dublin High School and she attended National Business College in Roanoke. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Alecia A. and David C. Stanley, Dublin; five grandchildren, Tal Stanley, Emory, Tim Stanley, Springfield, Amy Stanley, Wilmette, Ill., Meg Johnson, Charlotte, N.C., Tom Stanley, Staunton; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Dublin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Newbern Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the Dublin United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 577, Dublin, Va. 24084, or to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 5014, Roanoke, Va. 24012, Attn.: Louise Chagnon. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski.
