Doris Evonne Hinton, 81, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Compere's Nursing Home in Jackson.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hinton was born May 5, 1928 in Gulfport, MS to Nichalas S. and Callie Cameron Cuevas.

She was a homemaker and member of Oak Forest Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carl N. Cuevas, Holland Cuevas and Jason Cuevas; and sisters, Vernie Padgett, Melba Farlow, Catherine Necaise and Joyce Warren.

Survivors include her children, Jerry (Elaine) Hinton of Jackson, Robert (Darlene) Hinton of Jackson, Jeff (Kathy) Hinton of Terry, Pamela Peeples of Raymond, Cherrie (Marlin) Marshall of Jackson, Cynthia (Richard) Thomason of Jackson, Chris (Melinda) Hinton of Brandon, Lana (Mitchell) Bell of Byram, Billie Lewis of Saucier and Stuart Hinton of Houston, TX; sisters, Marylyn C. Austin of Gulfport and Dorothy Ussery of Statesville, TX; 20 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
