Harry Weinhardt, retired police chief
WESTVILLE Services will be held Tuesday for Harry E. Weinhardt, a lifelong Westville resident who was a retired police chief here. Mr. Weinhardt died Thursday at Underwood-Memorial Hospital, Woodbury. He was 73. Mr. Weinhardt was a member of the Westville police force for 33 years, serving as chief from 1968 until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the borough's fire department. Mr. Weinhardt served as a past president of the Police Benevolence Association, Gloucester County Local No. 122, and was the present treasurer of the New Jersey Police and Firemen Retirement Association, Gloucester County Local No. 11. He was also a member of the South Jersey Suburban Police and the N J. State Exempt Firemen. Surviving are his wife, Florence; a son, H. Thomas of Somerdale; a sister, Henrietta Standish of Westville; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Monday at the Wagner Funeral Home, 58 Euclid St, Woodbury, where services will be 10:30 a.m. , Tuesday. Burial will be in the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westville Ambulance Association or the Westville Baptist Church.
