Dr. M. Theresa Schoettle, osteopathic physician and Salem resident since 1885, died in her home at 626 N. Winter at Friday at the age of 91 years.
Dr. Schoettle was born at DeWitt, Ia., Nov. 5, 1856, and came to Salem 63 years ago. She was graduated from an osteopath's school at Kirkville, Mo., in 1902, and returned to Salem to practice. A shortime later she moved to Seattle where she practiced about ayear before going to Portland where she stayed for about five years before returning to Salem. She was married in Salem in 1887.
On returning to this city, Dr. Schoettle established offices downtown and practiced many years before setting up offices at her residence. She retired from active practice four years ago at the age of 87.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church, St. Monica's Alter society, the Oregon Osteopath's association and the American Osteopath's association.
Surviving Dr. Schoettle are a daughter, Mary T. Schoettle of Salem and a sister, Anna M. Barr of Salem.
The Howell-Edwards company is in charge of funeral arrangements.
